HONEST BURGERS | London

After the scotch egg and sausage roll disappointments at Borough Market, Teko, still not feeling 100%, wanted to wait somewhere, anywhere, that was quiet and far away from the crowds. Just a short distance away from the chaos, like a beacon he saw two words across the street that resonated – Honest Burgers. With additional assurance from Google, we jaywalked across and were quickly rewarded with a corner window table that not only gave us privacy, it was quiet enough for us to actually recover and have a decent conversation while waiting for our friend, Pieterjan. There really is a Santa Claus, and he works in a burger joint.

Not that I needed to but I was glad to find out that I didn’t have to queue up for either one in the market. Even if I was already a bit stuffed from the chocolate milkshake, which incidentally was also better than the one at Shake Shack, I knew what I had to get. At £12, including fries, it urned out to be a very satisfying burger, enough to fortify us for a nice walk through the city.
