Nyhavn is the counterpart to Amsterdam’s Dam Square, to Venice’s St Mark’s, and just about any place in New York, it was crowded enough to be claustrophobic and a picture of over-tourism in our modern age. It was requisite to see Nyhavn as it’s in all postcard images of Copenhagen but standing elbow to elbow with the mass of congregated cultures there was only bearable for a few minutes – and a dozen photo attempts – before we moved on to quieter parts of the city. I got my picture-perfect moments on this sunny spring day.
