What makes a Christmas tree special. It’s the fact that it’s been carefully curated with small little trinkets collected through years and years, that it’s a tree that was carefully chosen from a lot of many, similar looking trees and yet stood out, that it’s not the perfect tree but it’s a tree whose imperfections make it just right for the time and place it was made and bound for. The tree we chose this year, a year that’s been one of the most reliable as it can get considering, is completely all that.
While there are Charlie Brown trees and there are Four Seasons trees, this tree that I wax nostalgic about is somewhere comfortably in the middle. And that’s completely all right by me.
