As expected, the excitement of a new adventure meant waking up just around sunrise at 6 this morning – a recurring theme for this trip I’m sure – to get washed and ready for our drive to Normandy. I was hoping we could have left just as early, however the house rule that breakfast starts at 830 am put a kibosh on that plan. Curious as to what breakfast would be like, I’m glad to say it was quite pleasant. Sitting by the window facing the garden and enjoying a light meal of croissant, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice was satisfying and a great start to the day. As we walked out to the car and felt the light cool air we decided to stop by Napoleon’s Colomme de Grande Armee In Wimille before heading on south. Monday’s rarely felt this nice.
