Even if only on a local level, and despite occasional flashes of anxiety, I made it a point to vote today. This being my second election season in The Netherlands I can say with certainty that they really do make the process easy for everyone and is symbolic of many other things I appreciate about where I live. The whole process lasted minutes, with much of the time taken by my last minute indecision about who to choose, but when it was over and I walked out of the school building to a still bright early Spring evening I felt great and lucky with the realization of where I am. It’s good to be in The Netherlands.
