Morro Bay is a city in Central California’s Pacific coast. whose reason for coming into my consciousness and its one claim to fame – a humongous protruding rock. It was the first city I chose as our base for exploring the region, motivated by the proximity to the water, interesting views, and affordable accommodations. With respect to Morro Bay however, which looked amazing in photos, I found out later on about nearby Cambria and fell for it as there simply is no comparison – Cambria is the complete package hands down. The coast in Cambria is far more dramatic with a more scenic promenade, and better high-quality lodging options. When we did stop by Morro Bay to check it out we were done after just about half an hour of wandering around, somewhat unimpressed. What a relief.
