We hadn’t been there in a while so when Teko suggested starting the day at our old haunt in het Gooi I only felt a millisecond of hesitation. It wasn’t entirely original but I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it plus I had no inkling of an alternative that both of us would like. Apart from the occasional Mad Max driving it was a pleasant enough ride to get there and with the outdoor terrace nearly empty, we were able to order just like that and get out of there in record time. Despite the oddly prepared cheese sandwich – two folded slices of cheese on top of a plain slice of loaf bread – it proved to be another gezellig (blissfully cozy) experience that was a wonderful start to a glorious Sunday.
