Bakers and Roasters has been in my radar for quite a while but for one reason or another was constantly missed by opportunity. I heard it had decent huevos rancheros, which I would never order if I didn’t want a serious case of gas, as well as other brunch options that I’ve long foregone since I left the States. Under normal conditions Teko would never go as it ticked all the wrong boxes; too crowded, too small tables, too many hipsters, no parking. If a place showed just one of these he’d quickly say no and never. My chance finally came when a dear friend from a life long ago came to visit – thanks for the chance, Joel – and so it came to pass that my brunch restaurant repertoire has expanded considerably. Along with my waistline.
