After an almost never-ending wait at Helsinki Airport yesterday, we finally got to board our flight that turned out to be 3 hours long – didn’t realize the time difference with London was 2 hours – and luckily cabbed it to our hotel from Heathrow so we didn’t waste any more time travelling, got offered some bubbly at check-in and settled in our room overlooking Shaftesbury Avenue, just a short walk from the theatre district, Piccadilly Circus, Chinatown, etc. It was a relief to have finally made it to our hotel and get a shower but since it was close to 10 pm, there really wasn’t much left except for a late dinner before calling it a night. Felt strange to be in an English-speaking country but it shouldn’t be like that for too long – my rusty English is going to take a beating here though.
