The waters around Helsinki as expected are very clean and the land around it I’m quite sure cost a pretty real estate penny. As I walked along waterside, I even passed the U.S. Embassy, which is a sure sign the area’s one of the best there is. Lucky for me, there was a respectable, even enviable, landscaped and sculpture-dotted walking path that meandered along the coast that made time fly by and kept my attention away from my creaking back. As I kept walking westward past joggers, dads with strollers, and people of all persuasions, the more residential the area got until I decided to stop, take a breather, and head back to the center. It was a nice walk and a great way to get to know the city better – almost like a local.
