My Passport To The World

Two weeks and 110 dollars later I am the proud owner of a brand spanking new, all powerful US passport, a booklet whose small size belies a world of possibilities. It’s actually a whole lot heftier with its 50 plus pages and a lot better with its microchip enhancement and colored printing features that I couldn’t help but stare and admire it quickly after taking it out of the registered post package. From an artistic standpoint and possibly more importantly, a symbolic one, it was a beautiful, bittersweet reminder and proof of my struggle, the fruit of over 10 years toil, rollercoaster emotions, and living high and low. Here’s to another decade of wandering the planet and guessing what’s waiting for me around the corner.
