We kept going back and forth whether staying at the Sacher Hotel would have been a better idea. I reasoned out that not only was the price double what we paid at our current hotel, the rooms were all very dowdy-looking. On the other hand and admittedly, the holiday spirit that I was hoping for was far more elaborate at the Sacher that I was half-regretting going somewhere else. In any case, it was water under the bridge, and since we had a table there for brunch earlier today, it made up for any feelings I had of getting the short end of the stick, holiday-wise. It ended up being the most expensive buffet I’ve ever taken part of, which was bittersweet since I’m not a fan of eat-all-you-can buffets. The food was delicious though and the service consistently attentive, which was really all I could reasonably ask for. It was our last hurrah in Vienna before heading back to normal life.
