Our very generous houseguest spontaneously gave us the gift of hippopotamus during our shopping tour of the city yesterday and I couldn’t be more thankful. It was something I had my eye on for months, always stopping by to admire it when I was in De Bijenkorf, and was forever in my wishlist of superfluous things I wanted in our flat. It’s a well-crafted, sturdy, design-y piece of faux leather art, and now a welcome addition to our little world. My partner may not be able to get the dog or cat he’s always wanted — I take the blame for that — but at least we have something that comes close.
