Amazing, passionate, dramatic. A few words to describe the flamenco performance we witnessed last night at Corral de la Moreria. From the first strum of the Spanish guitar to the last dancer’s bow, each sway, stomp, and crash was a sight that almost everyone in the audience was ecstatic about (an American family with three teen and preteen sons didn’t seem to be entirely in the mood for it). While I was worried it was going to be a tourist trap show that does nothing for the art, it was an absolutely engaging experience, the expressions from the dancers particularly inspiring and the look of despair reflecting the tone of the music perfectly. Like my friend, Anthony, said, he would completely not mind seeing another performance, and I would have to agree. A second round would surely be another performance to remember.
