They say chocolate is good for you. If this was the case, then I’m on my way to sainthood. Chocolateria San Ginés is iconic (or famously well-marketed) and is the go-to place for churros con chocolate in Madrid. Notwithstanding a heavy (and consistently great) breakfast at the hotel and an increasingly expanding paunch, we stepped out of the HOHO bus a convenient 100 meters away from the shop, took a few pics, and quickly got an order of the famous snack. The churros were fresh and light, and the chocolate rich and thick. In no time, all 7 pieces of the churros were dipped and nipped, but there was still a lot of chocolate left. Try as I wanted, after two or three sips, there was no way I would be able to finish the rest, leaving my cup still half-full. A guilty pleasure only made even more guilty.
