My last full day in Barcelona, and my partner’s one and only morning before flying back to rainy Amsterdam was geared to making sure I saw the inside of Gaudi’s unfinished masterpiece. Seeing just the facade yesterday, I realized it would be likely be a long while before I make it back to this part of the world and so was determined to make it happen. Despite not getting any sleep last night, I miraculously woke up before 8 a.m., which gave us enough time to get ready, do breakfast, and cab it right at opening time. Almost.
Naturally, there happened to be a marathon that closed off a lot of streets along our way, so much so that taking alternate routes wasn’t enough, we actually had to switch cabs. We made it to the Sagrada Familia just after 9, got into a line that was starting to snake ever so determinedly around the block, through a couple of security checks and voila, we were finally in. Like pictures I’d seen, it was quite nice inside.
I never got to go inside. Is the rainbow lighting artificial or from the stained glass?

It's all natural, caused by the stained glass. Pretty cool effect. The line to get in was insane!
