Familiarity can be so comforting. As open air markets go, Boqueria is on the high side of the fame scale. It helps that it’s along La Rambla, the most popular promenade in the city, and that it has a lot to offer. It seemed everything was there – meats, fruits, seafood – and even prepared meals and juices. And they do love their juices. It felt good to see empanadas and jamons that while might perhaps be different in presentation, still brought up familiar emotional connections. No one seemed to mind us taking photos of their wares, which made for a pleasant walk around. Good to know where we can get good and cheap food around here.
