O LITTLE TOWN OF BELÉM | Lisbon

Belém is a district in Lisbon, and it’s Portuguese for Bethlehem. Fitting because like the perfect gift it’s a place that keeps on giving. Maybe a kilometer or two away from the Padrão dos Descobrimentos was another UNESCO heritage worth walking to and while I was a bit worried for Anthony who had some difficulty moving, he managed to come through swimmingly. It was closed when we made it to Belém Tower but taking it all in from the surrounding area was perfect enough, and like the monastery we saw earlier, the place was almost all to ourselves. Loving this city so far.
