It’s so hard to get inspiration these days, I’m starting to think my creative days are numbered. Last Monday though was a holiday, one of only a handful we’re lucky to have over here, and fortunately we found the energy to do something fun – if only to avoid the craziness that is King’s Day. Against all odds, the weather was terrific and seemed a good fit for an adventure in a not-too-far off island with some sand and surf. It wasn’t hard to be inspired in Texel.
As much as I rail against the food and weather in this part of the world, I couldn’t help but agree with my partner that if we ever found ourselves fortunate to choose where to spend our retirement days, Texel might just be it. Given the quiet, dramatic landscape, it has so much going for it that the deep, gray winters may just be altogether bearable.
