Back when we lived in Rotterdam, whenever we took the bridge over the Maas river there was always this building that tiny as it was easily stood out even from afar. It was a white, old-fashioned, low-rise structure that effortlessly stood out from the skyscrapers that surrounded it. I wasn’t very curious back then and, given my little affection for Rotterdam, I had very little interest in finding out what it was. Fast forward to the present, it turns out that it’s a restaurant and a nice one at that. Well-maintained and very art deco. It wasn’t at all hard to imagine the Titanic dropping anchor nearby or accidentally being part of the movie Somewhere in Time. What better place for a nice afternoon ride and a cozy outdoor Spring brunch.
