RESTAURANT SAHAN | Amsterdam

Rating: 4 out of 5.

One of the highlights of our trip to Turkey almost three years ago was the food, especially the desserts, and I’d been chomping at the bit to go back if only for it. Coincidentally – or maybe not so – a Turkish restaurant just happened to open shop within spitting distance from our flat in our multi-culti neighborhood. Trouble was my partner, ever the adventurer, would rather lay on a dentist’s chair than try something he wasn’t accustomed to. With thanks to our visiting houseguest, and in almost dentist-like fashion – I was figuratively pulling teeth to get my partner to come along – we made a trip to only the second restaurant in our neighborhood that we’ve ever tried. The meze wasn’t only delicious, it was satisfying, and the overall impression was enough to make me want to go back. Sooner hopefully rather than later.
