Our little band of colleagues trooped over to main headquarters to have our ‘first annual’ Christmas lunch at the much-envied (at least from my perspective) employee cafeteria-slash-food hall. Much like the first time I ate there when I chanced upon sushi and roast beef among others, my stomach was just as happy this time around the moment I saw the grilled portobello mushrooms, roasted chicken, steamed fish filets, and many other feast-worthy delights. I felt satisfied and sad at the same time. On our way back to our regular environs several blocks away, I spied one of many Christmas trees in the building and even ones being set up just outside. It’s definitely the season for feasts and firs.
