While I still do find some kind of solace being in church, more so if it were as big as the ones I’ve seen in Münster, I have had my own personal issues with religion – those unfailingly regular Wednesday night novenas during my childhood surely didn’t help. Having visited my fair share of cathedrals, it’s always interested me how churches all across Europe have turned empty and how much religion is seen less, even not at all, by the people I meet. Since I’ve moved here, I can only recall one person who admitted going to church. Good to know at least that these huge monuments to faith are still interesting to some people, and not entirely lost for purpose.
