The best options in Texel for lunch, logically, seemed to be in the capital – so off we went to Den Burg to see what, if anything, was open. It was Easter Sunday after all.
And, yes, those trees are really gold.
Maybe I was expecting it to be more like Hoorn or Alkmaar but I have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed by Texel’s largest city. After an attempt to find restaurant options online, we ended up in the most attractive building in the town’s main square, and, happily, it wasn’t bad at all.
The food was delicious, the service was good, and the dining room was far from ordinary, but the best part was a recurring theme of the trip – we had the whole restaurant all to ourselves.
After lunch, we went off to continue our tour of the island but not before noticing some of the local architecture. The houses here sure come in many pointy shapes and sizes.
That's not a house, it's a garage! (The last one) Probably the only one in our budget 😉
