Someone sure does love the King of Pop! We found this imposing statue on our way to Monschau, with flowers and cards at its base as if it were a monument-turned-altar of sorts. I asked around and found out that the statue was part of Michael Jackson’s concert in Amsterdam back in the 90s. It was auctioned and bought later on and eventually found its way to a fast food parking lot. Unique and iconic as he was, except for his slow songs, I may be one of the few people in the world that didn’t really get into his music so I can only look at monuments like these with a bit of incredulity and humor. Whatever floats people’s boats, I guess.
