For a former communist country, they have really beautiful churches.
Literally just around the corner from the hotel was this impressive work of a building named after the country’s first king. An orchestra, coincidentally, was playing some amazing classical music which contributed exponentially to the feeling of awe and grandeur while we were walking about inside.
It was exhausting going up the spiral staircase to the top of the tower, and a testament to how out of shape I’ve become, but it was well worth it if only for the view. Luckily, we found an elevator partly on the way down and saved a little bit of our energies to seeing more of this interesting city. Now if only the weather cooperated a bit.
