A Bygone Era

A remnant of a bygone age.
When we went to Zaanse Schaans a few weeks ago to tour a friend around the windmills, the local grocery store museum had some cool vintage ads on sale. Seeing as we were on a decorating spree, any of the posters would have made an interesting addition to the kitchen, plus they were so cheap they were practically giving them away. Going over the selection, my partner couldn’t help but see the political incorrectness of one particular ad and just had to have it. I can appreciate the history behind it as well as the classic simplicity in the design so I hope any friends who see this won’t think anything of it. If at all, it might as well serve as a testament to one country’s failed colonial ambitions, and since we are (supposed to be) all connected as one, just another reminder of all of OUR shared history.
