The Day Before Tomorrow

This was just the day before the most important day of the year in the country, and it was already madhouse craaaaa-zy.

Street performers from the Caribbean colonies

Those that drove through the city center must have pulled their hair out as not a few streets were closed and those that were open had people spilling over – it made even walking around unmanageable. It was every man for himself!

The official entrance into the Royal Palace

I was in the city center and met up with some friends visiting Amsterdam for the first time. Luckily or not, they timed it with a once-in-a-lifetime changing of the royal guard. After passing by the already enormous crowd at Dam Square I could only imagine how even bigger it would be like the next day during the inauguration. April 30 being a holiday everyone was more than ready to party that night.
