Athens in Heat

Athens is even better this second time around.
We are staying at the Athens Gate, wonderfully located next to the restaurants at the Plaka, the Acropolis, and the new Acropolis Museum.

We had a fantastic view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon from our room, and which is even more visible from the pretty rooftop restaurant.

It is also extremely hot, as in 40 degrees Celsius hot in the capital. Whew! People we’ve talked to said this was normal for this time of year. Thank goodness we’re only visiting. 
Being in one of the world’s oldest cities is certainly fascinating in itself. So much to still see and do in this amazing city. Now where to start…
