I now find myself living in Amsterdam, in my opinion considerably better than Rotterdam. There’s more culture, activity, and just so much more imagination.
Whereas we were paying to rent a place in Rotterdam, we are now living in a cozy, lovely flat we call our own. That thought alone lifts up my spirits.
I have an orchid plant I take care of…and successfully I might add.
|My Phaelonopsis still abloom after almost 5 months|
And I am in a relationship with a man I love and care deeply for.
But it hasn’t all been a bed of roses. I am once again without employment as the company I last worked for did not want to give me a permanent contract. Kut bedrijf!
It’s been nearly four years ago when I moved to the Netherlands and notwithstanding the often-terrible weather, expensive and uninspired food, and career worries (and by extension, money worries), it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made so far.
